Description

The Engineer (SCADA) applies electrical and electronic engineering principles to research, design, and contribute to the implementation of the Electrical Network Management System. The role ensures conformance with contract terms, quality standards, and project timelines, while providing guidance on advanced network management systems and electronic operations. The engineer manages real-time operating environments and supports strategic interventions in SCADA and network information systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide design and implementation input for Network Information and Electronic Management Systems
• Ensure deliverables meet quality, cost, and timeline requirements for complex electronic engineering projects
• Guide and interpret technical principles for advanced network management operations
• Manage and control real-time operating environments and system performance
• Disseminate technical information on network management and SCADA systems

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science (NQF Level 8) in Computer or Electronic Engineering (recognized by CHE)
• Minimum 2 years post-qualification experience in electricity distribution or transmission; preferred 3 years in SCADA, electronic systems planning, or software implementation
• Valid driver’s license
• Strong competencies in planning, design, project management, operations, communication, and teamwork
• Knowledge of high-level electronic systems, SCADA operations, and network management
